Garcia's Seafood Restaurant

Garcia’s Seafood is one of Miami’s best known seafood restaurants. They have their own fleet of fishing boats, thus ensuring the freshest seafood possible. In addition to a spacious waterfront dining experience, they have a seafood market where you can purchase some of their fresh catches and enjoy them in the privacy of your home.

The restaurant is family-owned and has been in business for over 20 years. There are plenty of dining areas available in this 2-story building, including an outdoor terrace overlooking the Miami River. Even on a warm Miami day, you can enjoy fresh breezes and a peaceful view of the river.

The décor on the terrace is rustic with a fishing theme throughout. Inside is a bit more nautical in nature. The terrace has an expansive mural of Biscayne Bay and the sea life that abounds within it, with the Miami skyline in the distance.

I ordered the pan-seared tuna with the tropical ginger sauce. The sauce was sweet with a hint of tangy and the tuna was prepared perfectly. I like my tuna almost raw, and they got it just right. My husband ordered the snapper and shrimp with tequila and pepper sauce. The sauce and the snapper was a bit more creamy and rich but very good, nonetheless.

The meal was delicious but even more enjoyable because of the setting. The staff was exceptional, everyone was friendly and helpful.
I recommend visiting this Miami landmark and enjoying a fresh seafood meal!

They are located at: 398 NW North River Drive

Come back and post your comments once you’ve visited the restaurant. I’d love to know what you thought.

Monty's Raw Bar in South Beach

If you had a boat, this is the perfect place to go as arriving by boat is much cooler than arriving by car.  This is what my son said the first time we went to Monty's Raw Bar in South Beach.  With other locations in Florida (the most popular one being in Coconut Grove), Monty's is mainly for adults especially during Happy Hour.  The South Beach location even has a swimming pool where guests can cool off before, during, or after their meal.

Decorated in marine life decor, the main bar area extends the whole length of the interior with a portion in an outside deck overlooking the marina.  There is a sidewalk that separates the restaurant from the marina where pedestrian traffic leads to impromptu to meal plans.  Our favorites include Conch Fritters, Fish sandwich, and fish tacos.  You top it off with Pina Coladas (virgin for the kids) for a refreshing end to a beach day.  For the latest menu, click here.
